Boaters Safety Course

The Greenville Recreation Department and the Montcalm County Sheriff have partnered to offer a Boaters Safety Course to the youth and adults of our community.  Our solitary goal is to promote safe use and enjoyment of our waters through education.  It is imperative, particularly for our youth, to learn the boating safety rules and regulations to protect themselves as well as our natural resources.

Thursdays, April 14 & 21, 2011	Thursdays, May 19 & 26, 2011
Pre-register by 5:00pm, April 12, 2011	Pre-register by 5:00pm, May 17, 2011
Anyone interested in learning boating safety.  Participants under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Classes will be held at the Greenville Area Community Center 900 E. Kent Rd., Greenville, MI  48838
Fee: $5.00

Register today...the more people that get trained, the safer our waters will be for everyone!

• A Montcalm County Sheriff's Office Marine Officer will instruct the course.
• Attendance of both classes is required.
• Participants must pass a written test to receive the Michigan Boaters Safety Certificate.
• Online Boaters Safety Course Offered: After completing the online portion of the Michigan Boaters Safety program, the certification exam must be administered by an authorized Boaters Safety Instructor.  Those interested in completing the exam portion of the class only may do so.  Exam will be conducted on March 9 at 7:30pm and March 20 at 7:30pm.
