Based on the faith and customs of their forefathers, the Amish place a premium on stability. In the midst of modern agricultural farms, integrated manufacturing, and state of the art healthcare facilities, the Amish eliminate fads, social status, and worldly stresses and allurements. They provide their daily basic requirements for themselves and their families. Part of their lifestyle is creating hand crafted items, baked goods or fresh produce to sell in order to supplement their needs.
If you would like to take a day to slow down, perhaps “step back in time” and visit our Amish friends, call the Chamber at (616) 754-5697. You may even want to take home an Amish quilt, quality handmade furniture, fresh produce and baked goods or cheese from a working cheese farm.
