Tax Information
The City of Greenville Treasury Department is responsible for the collection of real and personal property taxes for the City of Greenville, Montcalm County, the State of Michigan, the Greenville School District, the Montcalm Intermediate School District, the Flat River Library, and Montcalm Community College. The City of Greenville levies a property tax on residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
Summer Taxes Tax payments are due by August 31st. Postmarks can not be accepted as date of payment. If payment is not received in the Treasurer's Office by 5:00pm on the due date, a late fee will be assessed. Winter Taxes Tax payments are due by February 14th. Postmarks can not be accepted as date of payment. If payment is not received in the Treasurer's Office by 5:00pm on the due date, a late fee will be assessed.
Tax rates are rated in mills. One mill equals one dollar for each $1,000 of taxable value. Taxable value is approximately 1/2 or less of the market value of the property.
