Volunteer Coach Application
Volunteer Coaches and Assistant Coaches must attend a mandatory meeting to discuss department rules/policies, receive equipment, schedule practices and more.
What equipment do I need?
Tennis shoes/baseball (NO METAL) cleats and baseball gloves are required during all practices and games.
Limited baseballs, bats, and helmets will be provided by the Recreation Department for each team. If you need to borrow a baseball glove, we have limited gloves available during the season. Please call our main office 616.754.9163 for more information.
Participants are welcome to bring their own bat and helmet.
When are practices?
Practices are 1 hour, 1 day a week. Coaches pick the time and day they want to practice. Parents will be contacted by their coach after the coaches meeting when practice will be.
If you are interested in coaching, you can select "yes" when registering your child or you can call us at 616.754.9163.
When are games?
Games are on Mondays & Saturdays, starting early June.
Where are games and practices?
Practices and Games will either be at the Community Center Baseball Field (next to the Danish Kingdom) or at Water Works Baseball Field (Intersection of M-91 & Charles Street).
Can my child be on the same team as their friend?
During the registration process, a parent/guardian can put in a request to be on the same team, but it is not a guarantee. Our goal is to provide a fun experience for everyone while also making new friends along the way.
In order to keep a fair playing field, Greenville Recreation Department takes into account the skill level, experience, and age for each player to create teams. We do guarantee sibilings (excludes extended family) being on the same team and coaches and their children that want to work together.
If you are interested in coaching, you can select "yes" when registering your child or you can call us at 616.754.9163.
